Heirloom Gardens

Harvest Home believes healthy food and healthy work helps us to live healthier lives. The produce is shared with those that minister, receive ministry and with the community. Many people who come to the farm for ministry also help in the gardens. It is amazing how we find Jesus in the garden walking and working with us. The gardens are a place we grow in friendship, commitment, skill and love.

Our vision for the gardens is sustainability by using the natural resources the Lord has provided on the farm. We use natural garden techniques and plant many heirloom varieties that add a new level of flavor and nutrients. Several systems are integrated into the garden designs such as: crop rotation, composting, drip irrigation, seed saving and only using products that are organically accepted. Next year, our guinea hens will be incorporated into the gardens to eat many harmful insects.

If you are interested in participating or would like to know more about the gardens, please contact Celeste at celeste@harvesthome.org.

You can participate in one or more ways:

  1. Volunteer your time to work in the gardens (i.e. once a week, once a month).
  2. Enjoy our delicious produce from mid-May to mid-October:
    1. Receive a weekly supply of fresh produce. There is a limited supply of produce that is delegated on a first come, first served basis. We will send you a list of what we are growing in the spring.
    2. Included with the weekly supply of fresh produce will be a suggested donation.
    3. Our goal is to provide nutritious produce. All donations received will be put back into The Father's Farm
  3. Donate finances to the gardens for garden materials such as greenhouses and
  4. garden supplies.
  5. Pray for the Lord's abundant blessings:
    1. For the gardens
    2. For the gardeners
    3. For community
    4. For good health
~ Because of our desire to reach out to those who are struggling financially, we do not charge for any of our services. ~
