When Rhonda was seven years old she had absolutely no food in the house. To her delight, a couple from church knocked on her front door armed with bags and bags of groceries. She climbed on top of the table and pulled the food out. Surrounded by a mountain of food, she whispered, "God, when I grow up I want to take food to boys and girls who are hungry just like me."
God heard her prayer. For over forty years Danny and Rhonda have had the delight and privilege of personally feeding the hungry. And for the past 15 years, Harvest Home staff members pick up donated food six days a week from two local grocery stores. Some of the food is then distributed to widows, single parent families and shut-ins. Our Father's Farm has a pantry where families in our community can receive food and other necessities in a way that honors and protects their dignity.
Our Father's Farm Pantry is open to the public every Saturday from 2 to 4 pm. For more information, email Bev at: bev@harvesthome.org
